Tunisia releases prominent lawyer Souwab; Ennahda leader Ghannouchi calls for democracy from prison
Tunisia's Court of Appeals ordered the release of prominent lawyer Ahmad Souwab, according to his family. Souwab had been sentenced to five years in prison and was a critic of President Kais Saied. Meanwhile, Ennahda party leader Rached Ghannouchi, currently imprisoned, issued a message from prison calling for democracy and the rule of law in Tunisia.
