Syrian refugees in Denmark face restrictive policies despite integration

Approximately 45,000 Syrians live in Denmark, where roughly 10,800 arrived in 2015 fleeing the conflict in Syria. Despite most refugees settling, learning the language, and integrating well into Danish society, Copenhagen's restrictive policies on administrative procedures have left them uncertain about their future, caught between remaining in a country that does not welcome them and returning to a devastated homeland.
