Administrative authorities in Beirut have agreed to begin implementing security procedures and measures involving additional military and internal security units, as well as military patrols.
The International Organization for Migration reported that more than one million people have been internally displaced within Lebanon. Additionally, more than 130,000 people have crossed the border into Syria since the beginning of the current month.
